The difference
An answer you can check
A confident paragraph is easy. A paragraph with the page number beside it, and the page open next to it, is the thing that is actually worth having.
- Quotes are copied, not written
- Every quote is checked against the page it names before you see it. Click one and the document beside the answer opens on that page with the words lit up. A quote pointing at a page we never sent is dropped; a quote whose wording is not on the page it names is kept and labelled a paraphrase, because the point may still be right — but you should read that one yourself.
- Long documents say what was read
- A three-hundred-page manual does not fit in one question. The pages most likely to hold the answer are chosen and sent whole — never fragments — and the answer says which ones it covered rather than implying it read everything.
- Diagrams cannot break
- Answers come back as structure, not as drawing instructions, and we draw them. There is no diagram syntax to get wrong, so a picture either appears correctly or does not appear at all.
- "It does not say" is an answer
- Asked something the document does not cover, it says so and tells you what the document does cover. That is the failure mode every other tool in this category hides, and it is the one that costs people real time.

Is my document uploaded?
Yes — and this is the one tool here where that is true. The other tools do everything in your browser and never send the file anywhere; a conversation you can return to needs the document to still exist, so this one stores it.
Page text is sent to Google's Gemini model to answer each question. Nothing is used to train a model. A document uploaded without an account is deleted after 1 day; with an account it is kept 7 days, and on a paid plan it is kept until you delete it. There is a Delete button on every document that removes the file and the conversation immediately.
Can it read a scanned PDF?
Not yet. A scan is a picture of words, so there is no text to read and the upload is refused rather than answered from nothing. Run the document through the PDF editor, which can read a scanned page with OCR, and then come back.
How long a document can it handle?
10 MB and up to 30 pages without an account; signing in and subscribing each raise both. Up to roughly twenty-five pages of dense text the whole document is read for every question. Past that, the pages most likely to answer are selected and sent whole, and the answer tells you which pages it used — so a long manual works, and you can always see what it was working from.
How many questions can I ask?
10 a day without an account, and three times that with one. It resets at midnight UTC, and the counter beside the question box shows what is left. A paid plan raises it again and switches the count from daily to monthly, so a heavy day is not capped.
Can it be wrong?
Yes. It is a language model reading your document, and it can misread one. That is exactly why every answer names its pages and quotes their wording, and why the document sits open beside the conversation — for anything that matters, read the page it points at. Do not use it as legal, medical or financial advice.
