Quote the document, not the answer. Use it to find the passage, then read the passage — an answer about a document is not a source.
Is this document stored?
Yes, and deliberately: this is one of the two tools that keeps the file, because a conversation you cannot come back to is not a conversation.
How long can the document be?
Long documents are what it is for. Very large files are worth splitting first, which the splitter does without uploading anything.
